So
who is rooting against Reggie?
Now that the
Houston Texans
have managed not to blow a fourth quarter lead, the San Francisco Forty
Niners
are in the hunt for Reggie Bush. Barring
any miracle win against St. Louis,
the Forty Niners and the Texans will be facing off on January
1, 2006 for the
rights to Reggie Bush. Two more losses and
San Francisco will be atop the draft order again, in
position to
select Reggie Bush.
So who on the Forty
Niners
are rooting for a win?
I don’t think the
fans
are. Well, at least we will all mouth
that we are rooting for the red and gold to win. But
realistically, don’t we all want to see
Reggie on our side?
I wonder about the
coaches? Are they really rooting for a
win? I will give them a pass on this
subject because I am sure they want to win every game.
But deep down, don’t you suspect that they to
would love to see Reggie in a 49ers uniform?
The media surely
would love
to see Reggie in San Francisco. This player
represents a HUGE amount of media
attention, articles and plain old fashion fun.
The talking heads over at KNBR are secreting
wishing for Reggie for a
late Christmas present.
Most of the current
Forty
Niner players seemed to be rooting to get Reggie. "He's a very
electrifying player, exciting player to watch, definitely,'' defensive
tackle
Bryant Young said. "He could be an
asset to any team in the league.''
Linebacker Julian
Peterson
said, "He's an incredible athlete, probably one of the best college
athletes to play the game. He looks great. He reminds me of a young
Marshall
Faulk. ... Someone with that much talent will definitely improve the
team.''
So who is rooting
against the
Niners getting Reggie? I can think of
only two people – Kevan Barlow and Dr. John York.
Kevin Barlow KNOWS
that his
job and security is on the line the next two games.
No wins, no more job for KEVAN.
He even acknowledged the Reggie threat last
week.
As for Dr. York,
the thought
of having to pay out another HUGE first pick signing bonus must be
giving him a
tummy ache. It is a lot of money and we
all know how Yorkie loves his precious pennies.
Hopefully that would teach him not to try
“saving money” by gutting a
team. The old adage applies; you can pay
know or pay later, but you are going to pay!
On a side note – Happy Holidays
all! Thank you for all of your support
and Keep the Faith in the 49ers, but remain Faithless in York
