Back to Ohio - Apologies to Chrissie Hynde
I
just bet old John York is sitting back in Ohio now, sucking on one of
his precious pennies and giggling his ass off. He has done
it. He has survived the 2004 season and now is ready to sit back
and make more money.
Of course he survived you tell me.
Yes he did but not after getting the shit kicked out him for a good few
months. We were successful in shinning the light on his poor
mismanagement decision making and his absolute lack of NFL business
sense. It was great. John York was getting slammed alomst
daily there near the end of the season. He was called a joke by
the national press, including Terry Bradshaw.
Now his PR group is spinning "good" John York stories. He loves
his process stories, formulating
a draft strategy, spending money in free agency, and getting a new
stadium deal done in San Francisco. So I will give him his
due and allow him to enjoy his new start with the Niner faithful.
So as John stands back on his front porch in
Ohio, sucking on his precious pennies, he may find that there is nobody
left to blame. If he goes back to sucking on
pennies and
forgets his many "heart felt" promises about rebuilding for greatness,
then the gloves
come off again. He will be stunned and amazed.
