Time to Step Back
John York, the Bay
Area is
giving you a second chance much to my dismay. So
now that you are getting this second chance, do the right thing,
spend some money, hire competent people and step back from the day to
day
operations of the Niners.
Mike Nolan seems like a nice guy
and his coaching background and experience are good. In his
introductory press
conference, he hit all of the buzz words and indirectly addressed the
perception problems. So I give the old
Yorkster a passing grade on the coach search.
Now comes the search for General Manager and President.
The GM search speaks for itself.
You have already castrated the GM by hiring
the coach first. So the best we can hope
for is a smart numbers type of guy
(or gal). Find this person quickly.
As for president, this will be York’s
most important decision, then he needs to step
back from day to day operations. We do
not need any more vice presidents;
you already have five of them. And do not
think that your 23 year old son is
ready to serve. He is not, trust me, 23
year old rich kids have much to learn.
We need smart football people. Hire a
General Manager and a President and then
go back to Ohio. Denise and you can have fun shopping at
Wal-Mart
together.
If York does
this, chances are that he will be slow down the Dump York T-shirt Sales. If he doesn’t, well, I guess I will be
packing a lot of shirts over the next few years.
