Shame on them both
Great reaction from York's general manager and chief minion, Terry Donahue,
joking about the number of concussions that Derrick Deese has had in his twelve
years of playing for the Niners as the reason for his criticism of York and his
management of the team, which we all know is headed straight to hell.
There's not a thing wrong with Deese's memory. Having been a key player for
the Niners for a lot longer than present management has been around, Deese has a
great perspective on what team management used to be vs. what it is now, and
makes a number of good points about the effect of cutting so many starters all
at once.
Contrary to what Donahue would have us believe, cutting Deese to bring on
Kwame Harris seems to be the move of a owner and general manager who've
been hit in the head one too many times. In fact, if true, blows to the head
might explain a great many of their boneheaded decisions.
But stooping to the level of joking about potentially life-altering
injuries a player has sustained in the faithful course of excelling at his
position for the Forty-Niners ought to be beneath even these two losers.
Apparently, though, there isn't anything they won't due to deflect blame for
their bad decisions away from themselves and toward competent, articulate team
members and everyone else who differs with their "style."
Shame on them both.
