The worst 49ers game in there history was last Sunday versus
the bears. It’s not like the 49ers
couldn’t catch a break this time instead they caught all the breaks and
then some. The wind seemed to pick up
every time Bears kicker Robbie Gould lined up to kick a Field Goal
including one the almost went out of the camera’s view because of the
strong gust. The strong gust also forced
Bear punt returner Bobby Wade to drop 3 punts with the 49ers recovering
2 of them. The 49ers seemed to move the
ball down the field the best on Bobby Wade muffed punts.
2nd string Bear running back Cedric Benson who
was starting for the injured Thomas Jones also got hurt and the Bears
had to hand the ball of to there 3rd stringer Adrian Peterson. How could we blow this?!?!?!
Joe Nedney had even mastered the wind on Field
Goals!!! Do we suck that much?!?!?!
Yes.
The first problem is the play calling. Offensive
Coordinator Mike McCarthy has lost all the creativity from week on and
just hands the ball of the ball every time to run it up the gut. Barlow has improved over this season and is
becoming a somewhat solid running back, but when you become this
predictable all Brian Urlacher has to do is watch were Fullback Fred
Beasley moves to block and he follows, punishing Barlow nearly every
time.
Cody Pickett is too anxious in the pocket.
He threw many of his 12 incompletions to the
receiver’s backs. When we got the balls to
the 2 yard line inexperience and stupid penalties hurt the 49er’s
chances. Cody Pickett’s scramble for the
end zone could have been a touch down if he didn’t slow down to pump
fake the defense. There was no were out
there he could have been thinking of pumping to so the Bears Defense
only needed to stop Pickett.
The 108 yard field goal return was the cherry on top. With the wind conditions I don’t understand
why Nolan would go for a field goal over 50 yards.
Of course it came up short and Nathan Vasher
ran it back. The 49ers terrible Special
teams could not even contest to his run. Punter
Andy Lee showed no heart on the play when he dodged out of the way of
bears blockers not to get hit.
It seems the 49ers have no completely lost hope of this
season, even Nolan.
