Perfect Time for a
Scandal
We hit rock bottom and then we started to turn it around.
York
fired Donahue and Erickson which some people say was just a P.R. move. Who cares! He
made the right move. Hiring Coach Mike
Nolan will give the 49ers a new beginning and Nolan made some good
coaching hires. We did the best we could
in a weak draft by drafting Alex Smith and then built a team around him
to fit him best. The 49ers were starting
to look like they would soon be back.
Then this training tape got out to the San Francisco Chronicle. Kirk Reynolds makes fun of the new young
player’s new home and gets them to lose respect for San Francisco. They
probably looked up to Reynolds and thought this is the way the
Professional 49er player’s act; “Were better than everyone else now”.
Julian Peterson just needs to shut up. He
said referring to the person who leaked the tape, “I think things will
come back to whoever let it out like that. Justice
will be served, but lets move on.” Are you
serious? It’s the person who leaked the
tape’s fault that there was a tape because? Oh, the thirty groups
consisting of about 100,000 people upset by this are not going to move
on.
People wonder if York
knew about this… of course he did. The
entire organization knew. York is now
going to play it off saying stuff like “This is an outrage”. It is an outrage to him and the organization
because it shows more flaws.
York has a big problem with firing people. It took for ever for him to fire Donahue and
Erickson after they screwed up numerous times and York should have fired Reynolds 5 or
6 months ago once he found out about the tape and then he should have
had it destroyed. No one would ask
questions why Reynolds was fired, he would just be gone, but now York will just
wait for Reynolds to step down. If York would have
handled this the right way the 49ers would still have some pride and
everyone would be thinking about this upcoming season, but instead we
got this mess and the great organization we once had is completely
gone.
