Hunter's Shot

Rude Dude Note

I've known Hunter for a few years and I am happy that he has joined the Dump York effort.  What makes me mad is that Hunter makes more sense than ninety percent of the adults I know, including myself.  Hunter is a sophomore at Santa Cruz High and is the starting Varsity water polo goalie.  He must take after his mother because I know his dad......

Perfect

Imagine this; 50-60 Anti-York protesters chanting “Sell the Team” as Dr. John York himself crouches down in the back of a limo.  Perfect.  That's what happened Saturday before the game against the Redskins.  I can't imagine any better protest.  As players drove in and saw us chanting they pumped their fist, some even giving out high fives.  Much of the security Hunter at the gameand ushers supported the movement.  We even had an ABC 7 news camera there filming our chants.  Sports writer Glenn Dickey seemed to have come out of his way to stop by and give his support.  We also had a mysterious man in a suit taking many pictures of us at our tailgate.

Once I got into the stadium I must have had at least 50 people asking where I got the shirt or yelling “Dump York!”  Rude Dude and company snuck in a Dump York sign and held it up in the 4th quarter.  Julian Peterson looked at us and smiled, that was enough.

Again as the game wound down and the 49ers headed towards another loss I saw that guy in the suit again, but he was standing around the 49ers bench.  Then he took out his camera looked around to make sure no one was looking and then hit the button.  Then he looked around again as he slowly put the camera away.  Maybe we have a Dump York supporter with very close connections.

The protest was awesome.  And always remember; "We didn't lose the game; we just ran out of time." Vince Lomabardi
