Guest Ranter Bradley the Missile - July 2, 2005
Hello other Disgruntle Fans
After enjoying a good night of drinking with the Rude Dude, and some
others at a engagement party for some mutual friends, I sat down to
read the San Francisco Chronicle on Sunday Morning, and notice that the
Yorks are trying to find ways to make more money. Usually after a
season like the one past, it would be a public relations nightmare to
even suggest raising ticket prices, though I think the 49ers PR
department is missing a few screws after the past two "training" videos
(though, on a funnier note, Mr. Reynolds is a finalist for the best NFL
PR person by the Sports Writers of America, I would like to see what
other teams videos are like). They have already lost the entire
waiting list for season tickets due to the play and policies of the
management (notice all of the television ads telling people there are
still tickets available, as well as the barrage of mail I still receive
after not renewing my season tickets this year) you think they would
lower the prices in order to make sure they would not follow the
raiders lead, and be blacked out in the Bay Area at any home game this
season, but they called several season ticket holders (including one of
my sisters) about the possibility of a Personal Seat License, and
increasing tickets on the 45 yard line by 5 times the current
value.
Way to treat the faithful, many of which have had tickets since Kezar
Stadium. Does this seem like a smart way to run a business or a
sporting team to anyone else? They do say it is for the new
stadium, but what about the additional fees that are already added to
the tickets to "pay" for the last stadium? They seem to be adding
up, and no construction in sight. All in all, there is still Hope
that York will get the clue and sell the team to someone who actually
wants to run the franchise someplace than into the ground.
