Guest Ranter Gary Kawanami -  December 31, 2004

On the night Ronnie Lott's jersey was retired, he threw down the gauntlet for York to continue the tradition and class Eddie so lovingly established. Unfortnately, that was the last time the Faithful will see Eddie in the 'Stick and York has failed miserably.

His continuing cheap reputation and shoddy treatment of the players and fans will kill this once proud & mighty franchise. When the national media is calling you "parsimonious" ("extreme or excessive frugality" Sports Illustrated Dec. 6) to a "tightwad" operating on a "shoe string budget", how can WE attract any quality free agents or coaches?  Yet according to Forbes, York made some 20 million dollars last year off OUR 9ers.

Recently, Donahue admitted he thought this team should have "won 5 or 6 games this season".  Yet, before the season started, they raised season ticket prices $60 so they could "field a competative team this season". (Their own words) On top of that, WE'VE been paying a $.75 "temporary admission tax" on each ticket that was marked for a new stadium for the past 7-8 years. Now let's use the pubished "attendance" figures from the Bills game.

63,298 X .75 = $47,436 (this is for only ONE game)

Now, multiply that by 10 (the number of tickets in a season = $474,360

Now, multiply that by 8 (the number of years we've been paying)

GRAND TOTAL:  3.3 MILLION DOLLARS!!  Where has all this money we fans paid gone?

NO WONDER THE FAITHFUL DO NOT TRUST YORK
!!!

Stop hiding behind Donahue's tired and lame cliches.  York declined comment for the S.I article.  Why?  Is he afraid instead of being thought of as an incompetant, penny pinching moron he'll prove it by opening his big fat mouth? Get rid of the signs at the 'Stick that say "The Fun Place to Be".  With its long concession, bathroom and exiting lines, there's nothing even remotely fun about watching OUR beloved team be destroyed week after week.

The president goes out to every natural disaster to show concern. Yet York refuses to show up at the disaster HE HAS CAUSED.  And we're supposed to trust his lead?

"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on ME."

I AM A 23 YEAR SEASON TICKET HOLDER WHO WANTS HIS TEAM BACK!!!
