We're All Fans
We all have one goal, we just have different
methods. We all want the 49ers to return to the greatness by which
we have all be spoiled. We want Super Bowl rings. At minimum we want a
team that will make us proud and be in the hunt every year. Even the
York's SAY they want to win (although I would argue it is much lower in
their priority list than it is in ours). We are 49ers fans who just
want to win!
I have become interested by a few comments I have heard or seen that
questions the fans. For example when Hunter posted his DumpYork
experience on the Niners board, he was accused of not being a fan. I
don't have the exact quote but it was something like "you call yourself
a fan, yet you boo the team you route for." Even the York's have set
guidelines for what is a fan. Only the "faithful" will pay to sit and
watch the crap on the field with the optimistic view that things will
change.
My point is simple, we are all 49ers fans. I wish I could sit and watch
this team with the knowledge that the greatness we desire will be just
around the corner. More power to those who actually believe it. I guess
that makes them "faithful." But guess what? I am faithful too. I am
faithful to the Niners! I will always route for them. But I am
faithless in the Yorks! I just do not believe that as long as they own
this team, the Niners will ever find great success. Sure, maybe someday
we luck into a winning season. But there will be no long lasting
consistency. And hence, DumpYork.com lives on.
I hold no ill will to those who drink the juice. If anything I am
jealous as I wish I could see the world through their eyes. But I
don't. And so I will always route for the Niners, but until proven
otherwise, I will always route for the Yorks to sell the team and leave
our town. That is how I believe our team will return to greatness.
We are all Niners fans. We just all have different beliefs on how to
accomplish our same objectives.
