You are either with us or you are off the
team!
Well that is what young Mikey has been telling us ever since he showed
up in San Francisco. Either you buy into what is going on, or you can
go right out the door. I will give Mikey credit, he said it from day
one and he has backed it up. And the result for all those buying into
what Mikey has to say? 1-3 including three of the worst losses I have
seen. Way to go Mikey!
And
with the whirlwind Colts marching into town this weekend what do we
have to say? Jaime Winborn, one of the top athletes on the team was
left at home to watch the rest of his defensive mates get pummeled by
the legendary Cardinal offense. The all-pro fullback named Fred plays a
few plays a game. Even a great play that saves a touchdown by forcing a
fumble after the Rattay fumble postponing the inevitable last night,
was not enough to get Beasly out there more. Instead they turn to a
waiver wire FB in Hetherington. Funny how Beasly is a free agent at the
end of this year and Hetherington is making minimum wage?
So it is Nolan's way or the highway. Even if it means making a bad team
worse. John Shrader made an excellent point on KNBR this afternoon. If
the Niners trade Winborn they could have got a 3rd or 4th round pick.
But by benching him and telling everybody that he is gone, he has lost
his trade value. Was it so important to get Winborn gone so quickly?
Did Nolan send a message to the rest of his team? The message was
obviously heard loud and clear by..... by.... York? I did not see the
players doing anything different Sunday. The offense was ridiculous.
The D tried to hang in there but they could never get off the field.
So when Nolan calmly stands at the podium and says it is my way or no
way, I am left to wonder exactly what is his way. And are we better for
buying into it? Right now I feel like buying into Winborn's way and his
100 plus tackles and Beasly's way of all-star blocking. So far I am not
excited by the way this rookie management team has handled things. I am
not ready to fire this staff yet but I am worried. And is it just me,
or can others hear the jingle-jangle of a bunch of pennies behind the
podium when Nolan speaks? Is this really Nolan's way? Or is this really
the York way? Get rid of the talent before it gets high priced?
Dump York!!!!!!!!
