Cap Hell?
Cap Hell? What the hell does that mean? Somebody please show me
some numbers that proves to me the 49ers have to suck for the next 10
years!
Let's face it folks, the problems start at the top and funnel their way
down. Dr. John York took control of the 49ers and decided it was time
to
make some money. The fact is the NFL is about pride. You make your
money at the end of the day when you sell the team. But to compete on
the field you have to put some money out there; put together a winning
management organization, followed by some quality coaches and then
finally some talented ball players. Dr. York forced out a legend in
Bill Walsh. Has followed the advice of a mediocre college coach in
Terry Donahue, found a cheap Pac Ten Donahue buddy to coach the team,
then started dumping 49er veterans and replacing them with....?????
While the 49ers claim to be stuck in "Cap Hell" yet again, other
teams continue to find a way to sign a key player or two. Across
the Bay, Alice
continues to bring in veteran players every year, not that it is
working this year. Denver always has money for free agent signings
despite a few horrible contracts. York and Donahue claim they
want to pattern our franchise after the Eagles. Well, the Eagles
went out and signed TO and
Jevon Kearse. Does that sound like something York would do?
I don't mind rebuilding, but we just did it. Why do we have to do it
again? And unlike a few years ago, does anyone have confidence that our
leadership will make the right draft and free agent decisions to get us
out of "Cap Hell" and put a respectable team together in 2006 as
promised? I know I don't. DUMP YORK now before our franchise
turns into the Bengals of the 90s. Hey, the Bengals made money. Look
where that got them!
